The happiest moment in the mind of any parent must the occasion of hearing the news about the GREAT ACHIEVEMENT of their Children.Great Achievements need (a) Clearcut Purpose in Life

(c) Risk Taking or Self Confidence or Courage
(d) Skills
(e)Knowledge , etc., in Children.
Among the above factors the prominent factor which is influencing the progress of children is RISK TAKING.
What is the base for the Risk Taking potential of Children? :
1.Parenting Style: Parenting Style is one of the important factor determining the Risk Taking capability of children.
(a) Authoritarian Style: Authoritarian parents always try to exert their control on the children.
(b) Permissive Style: Permissive parents give maximum freedom to their children.
(c) Democratic Style: Democratic parents help children learn to be responsible for themselves and to think about the consequences of their behavior.
The type of Parenting Style adopted by Parents plays a vital role in the behavioural moulding of children.From the above styles of parenting , Democratic style is more useful for inculcating the quality of RISK TAKING,which is vital for their successful living in the society.
2. Role Modeling: Role Modeling is one of the powerful tool valuable for forming the desired behaviour in children.Hence Parents can use this method as a technique to develop the quality of RISK TAKING in our children.
Role Modeling in parenting is acquiring of behaviour by children through the observation of the behaviour of their parents.The most we need to do is listen to ourselves and observe our own behaviors when we are raising children who look up to us.Hence atleast in front of your children, behave as you expect your children to behave.
Especially in building the qualities of SELF CONFIDENCE and RISK TAKING , Role modeling plays a crucial role.
There are two kinds of Role Modelings which may help children to learn the qualitiy of RISK TAKING:
One is the self confidence and risk taking tendency shown by parents(Role Modeling) in front of their children.So parents please behave with self confidence , boldenough to take risk in your day today affairs esspecially when yourchildren listens.Such behaviour automatically may help your children to develop the qualities of self confidence and risk taking.
The other one is the confidence or fear , we are imprinting in the mindset of our children through our repeated fearful punishments , scoldings or telling of fearful stories.These imprints may cause more FEAR and less Risk Taking potential in the mind of our children. As RISK TAKING is the foundation for the successful living of children,at any cost parents should avoid causing fear in the mindset of children.
Points useful to reduce Fear in children:
1.Respect your child's feelings and fears.
2.Find why he/she is afraid and then talk about it.
3.Don't be overprotective.
4.Don't overreact.a
5.Give your child support as he learns to master his fears.
6.Reassure her/ him to face her/his fears.
7.Show them that the incident is not a risky one.
Follow the above insights ,make your children more courageous,to make them as successful as possible.
